Norman Dreger strengthens Lurse Management Team

  • The recognized pension expert will join Lurse as Managing Partner in February
  • Dreger will be responsible for actuarial services and the expansion of the global pensions and benefits business

Lurse is enhancing its management team in the areas of actuarial services and global benefits: Starting February 1, 2025, Norman Dreger, a seasoned and strategically-minded authority in occupational pension and benefit schemes, will lead both business areas as Managing Partner.

Dreger will assume leadership of the actuarial services division, driving its growth and development. He will drive the further development and deployment of the actuarial tools used for companies, pension funds, and other pension institutions, adapting them to upcoming challenges and thereby increasing Lurse’s market share.

In addition to overseeing actuarial services, Dreger will also lead the expansion of Lurse‘s global pensions and benefits business. Together with the international experts of the MBWL network, to which Lurse belongs, he will advise companies worldwide on the strategic design and management of their benefit plans. Furthermore, he and his team will support clients in the areas of global actuarial services, mergers and acquisitions, as well as in pension administration, and in the establishment, optimization, and management of global insurance programs.

Norman Dreger began his career in 1999 as an actuary and consultant at Mercer Canada and moved to Germany in 2001. He brings 25 years of experience in pensions and benefits management in Germany and worldwide. Until 2023, he served as CEO of Mercer Germany and Mercer Austria, as well as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Mercer Pensionsfonds AG. Previously, he held a senior role in the Multinational Client Segment (MCS) at Mercer, with responsibility for teams operating in over 20 locations and across 17 time zones. This included overseeing the international key account management function and servicing global clients. Currently, Dreger is a member of the main committee of the industry association IEBA (International Employee Benefits Association), which he chaired from 2019 to 2021.

“We are pleased to welcome Norman Dreger to our leadership team,” says Matthias Edelmann, Managing Partner at Lurse. “His extensive experience and profound national and international expertise in the occupational pension market will significantly strengthen Lurse. Norman will elevate our international MBWL network and our global client relationships to the next level.”

“I look forward to working with the expert team at Lurse and supporting its clients in addressing their challenges in the field of pensions and benefits, both nationally and internationally,” says Norman Dreger. “Lurse has established itself as an innovator in the area of pensions, benefits and HR consulting, and I am excited to contribute to advancing the company further.”

Matthias Edelmann adds: “With the hiring of Norman Dreger, Lurse continues to position itself as a leading provider in the HR and retirement landscape. This reinforces our position as an innovative partner for national and international companies in all strategic, legal, actuarial, economic, and administrative matters – both in occupational pensions and benefits. Lurse looks back on six years of dynamic growth. During this time, we have significantly expanded our service offerings in the pension sector.” In 2023, Lurse acquired the digital pension administrator AMAKURA and in May 2024 the actuarial office Mensch & Kuhnert.
