Merck in co-operation with Lurse due to its extensive experience with networking groups has initiated activities for establishing a network focusing on overall HR and Total Rewards activities in China.

The kick-off meeting was held October 24th and 25th 2018 in the Merck Offices in Shanghai, China.

15 companies, most of which are listed on the DAX/MDAX, participated in the meeting. The presence of corporate and regional leaders from HR as well as Total Rewards, gave the group very diverse points of view that led to fruitful discussions.

The main discussions of this first meeting included:

• War for talents – strategies to secure critical talent against the local competition on the Chinese labor market
• HR corporate-driven companies: Balancing local needs with global standards
• Transfer of know-how: Specific characteristics and legal regulations of the Chinese market

 The next meeting will be held in April 2019, hosted by Metro AG in Shanghai, and organized by Lurse.
